Cheers to Trailrash, Fugazi, Meirion and Rachael for coming along on this 25 mile route.
Starting from The Crooked Horn Inn (Brynford) the ride headed away from Brynford across Halkyn to Calcoed and worked it's way down to Ysceifiog via paths, bridleways and cheeky bits and then over the Clwyds past Moel Arthur to take in the Keegans Lane descent , then back up to Halkyn taking in Moel-y-Crio and weaving it's way back over Halkyn to the Crooked Horn.
No end of punctures mainly from Carl (think it was 5 tube changes. Though I didn't get any with my tubeless setup.
Great company and bone dry trails with some fffffaaaasstttttt.... downhill sections and sunshine the whole ride, what more can you ask for.
I didn't take as many photos today as I was enjoying the route too much to keep stopping, I'll post them up later tonight.

Cheers Gus, really enjoyed that today! Now sat on the couch after a hot shower and with the knee back on ice Really enjoyed all the downhills too and it was nice to see a non-hairy biker joining us too, nice meeting you Rachel. Still can't believe how you know (and remember) all these cheeky bits Gus. Only a minor disappointment re my tubeless conversion, dealing with the thorns no probs but didn't withstand an assault of what must've been a sharp rock ripping into the side-wall of my rear tyre. Still better 1 puncture instead of 5 hey Fuflatty beat his personal record I think? No pics from me today as I couldn't be bothered

Thanks Gus ... Great ride today...quite a few nice descents there...pity I chickened out of the big one just after Moel-Y-Crio . Had one puncture, a minor dribble and my first OTB experience (No damage sustained by Me or bike on this occasion) . Only managed to take 4 shots today...was playing catch up most of the time . Now, Gus had shot off ahead down this section of singletrack and the rest of us were giving him a few minutes to get set up...We all no what this means . Trailrash, Fugazi and Rachael by Meirion ( MonteRosa83), on Flickr Off we went... Trailrash, Fugazi and Rachael by Meirion ( MonteRosa83), on Flickr When I caught site of Gus crouching in the hedge I also noticed a rock and a large log on the path ...I avoided the rock but not the log ...bike came to a halt and I just managed to stop going over the bars. It's breaking my heart seeing everyone getting out and about whilst the trails are bone dry @merion...if that's the hill I think it is, there's a few short video clips somewhere of a couple of folk, either past or present members, coming unstuck on that one and if you trawl back through the archives far enough you'll probably find them....and come to think of it, I think I ended up on my arse when I first set off down it but was that narked I went back to the top to make myself feel better

Cheers for that Carl. I look a right perv in one of those photos with the lamb between my legs. I'm at work and laughing to myself when I saw it. Other workers are giving me strange looks. . Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using ProBoards
