Sometimes the best rides are the ones that you couldn't really be bothered turning up for, and so it proved last night 
Having spent the day in work looking out of the window at Hurricane Gonzalez trying to uproot every tree in sight, I kept checking the forum to see who would be first to pull out. To my surprise no-one had yet said they were giving it a miss, so there was no way I was going to be the one.
I turned up at the meeting point to be greeted by Simon and Adam looking at each other with that "WTF are we doing here" look on their faces. Gareth soon pulled up and we were ready to move out. After a bit of a discussion we decided to keep to the lower ground on the outward leg, which was into the wind, and take the higher trails with the wind behind us.
And I must say, it was the best 12 miles I'd ridden in a long time. Good company, good banter and despite everything the weather threw at us, good riding conditions.
Once back at the car it was a quick change and then the short drive to The Druids for some chip butties that we'd ordered over the phone from the top of Moel Fammau
