Ace thanks guys, the route at Gentress you describe is the old Red and I use that way normally so that's great, and yep getting round the first climb at Inners isn't an issue so that's good as well, thanks for the info much appreciated

Another good weekend that. A good spin around Ae on Friday followed by some food in town. Walking back to the digs (after raiding the Co-op for cheese, biscuits, grapes and wine) for an early night I was talked into staying out to sink a few. We then got back to the digs and apparently had a door slamming comp which I won Thankfully I didn't compete in the 'red wine doesn't agree with me comp' though and didn't hear the effects thankfully Saturday was a bit of a struggle at first but a nice flat run on the cycle path to GT woke us up and then a good loop around GT. Got to love Spooky Wood and the cafe at the end. This was then followed by a subdued evening in Peebles and an early night As has been said Sunday saw a number of splinter groups with one off on his raodie (wrong 'un), another 3 off home, one to GT to do the blue and 3 of us stayed to do Inners. Sam went and had a word with a local and found a way around the diversion and when we got up to the trail we carried on up to the top of Minch Moor. At the top I then had a slice of birthday cake as instructed before then setting off on the Minch Moor descent. At the end of the main descent I lost a contact lens which meant I was then basically riding with one eye. So what did we do? we went down the black single track descent and **** me what a difference only having one eye makes. Really couldn't make out the lines and the depth perception although I did think at least I've got my excuse not to do Caddon Bank. We then got to Caddon Bank for the final run down and I went down the chicken run on the last drop but had a close look at it. Sam then came over it and I thought **** it, it's my birthday and about time to MTFU so shouted Sam back and then followed him over it...a monkey off the back. We then headed back to Inners for some food and coffee before Sam and Adam headed off home and I headed off to Edinburgh to spend the next 3 days abroad working. Thanks to everyone for the company but especially Sue for organising everything, the birthday cake and present, and sorting out the unbelievable weather. A few photo's from Sunday and here's tot he next one The stone road to avoid the diversion at Inners Birthday cake at the top of Minch Moor The final drop on Caddon Bank - classic picture doesn't do it justice Not related but I saw this in Arbroath Carl and thought of you but I don't think they'll be the ones you had nicked
