Last weekend away of the year - Machynlleth - November 2014

It's surprising what can be arranged over a pint and a chip butty on a wet Tuesday evening 
And the result of that very conversation was a fantastic weekend away taking in Nant Yr Arian Trail Centre and a 23 mile route around The Dyfi Forest. Blessed with what can only be described as unusually warm, sunny weather we had two days of great riding, a few beers and a good curry. The only downer on the whole weekend was the last 17 minutes of the Wales v All Blacks Rugby Game on Saturday evening
Saturday saw us meet at one of my favourite trail centres that Wales has to offer, Nant Yr Arian. Nine of us made the effort to get down there for a 10am start, and were rewarded with some absolutely fantastic single track descents running very dry. The 'out in the middle of no-where' part of the ride was surprisingly dry too, and afforded some lovely views.
Saturday's pictures
After a bite to eat in the trail centre it was the drive to the bunk house where we had a quick shower and then to the bar for the rugby. Then it was a quick bus ride into Mach for an indian and a few more beers before getting a taxi back to the digs
Sunday saw Tony L and his two lads (Chris & Ade) join us for a loop around The Dyfi Forest. And bugger me it was a tough one
The ride started with a two and a half mile climb followed by a sharp steep descent, and this was the pattern for the rest of the day. Lots of big climbs, but the end result was fast and frenzied descents that had you grinning from ear to ear once you were safely at the bottom

Finally, a big thanks to Gareth for organising the weekend and sorting out some cracking digs that I would have no hesitation in using again

. Good to get a decent group out in the back end of November, everyone must have been getting out of Christmas shopping.
