Just for a change we decided we'd take a night time trip around Llandegla this week rather than The Clwyds. And to be honest it wasn't the worst decision we've ever made
Thirteen of us turned up at the lay-by, lights charged ready for the off, some of them were even under 50 years old ! We cycled up the road to the visitor's centre and then hit the trail. The majority of us done the Red / Black route while Gareth and Tony decided that they would stick to the Red Route. There was a diversion in place avoiding the B-Line so we managed to cover 2 miles in about 2 hours.
Having not ridden Llandegla for about 12 months it was really good to ride somewhere different, and especially the single track sections
Then it was to The Plough for the customary post ride pint, and some big chunky chips that the guy made especially for us even though the kitchen was closed. And these chips were the real McCoy, not the 'frozen crappy chips' (Smithy's words) we usually have. So chunky in fact we could only fot 4 chips onto the bread to make our butties
Good to catch up with both Mark and Monster who I haven't ridden with for far too long, and also good to see Rupert getting away from his babysitting duties.
I'm thinking of doing a monthly night ride around there after Christmas, mixing it up with The Clwyds, so if you've got some lights on your Christmas list then you may soon get the chance to use them
Thanks to everyone that turned up, especially as some came from as far afield as Conway and Liverpool. Also a big thanks to those of you that put the route together. No pictures this week as I was too busy concentrating on the trail and having fun.
