Looks fun riding on the sand, but how do you get it off the drivetrain ? Seems a bit naughty to me, ha ha !!

but how do you get it off the drivetrain ? Tbh, that's the obvious question from most cyclists because its natural for us to think bikes and sand don't get on. You do get a few strange painful noises coming from the moving parts now and again but as long as a dry lube is used (stops the sand sticking) and its hosed down after usually sorts it out. In the 19 months I've had the Salsa I've just replaced the cassette and chain just last month. The bottom bracket and headset has also just been serviced. The hubs are still running as new!! Riding on the coastline is awesome as you get to see and hear thing you obviously don't see if you're up a mountain
