So, what's your favourite snack / energy food for biking?
I like fig rolls. High energy and compact to carry.

Second on the jaffa cakes, only 1g of fat per cake Wine gums are good for an instant pickup, granola bars for the longer term

I remember at CYB once when i got a bit carried away on the jaffa's. I got to the bottom of a hill and realised i had a pack in my bag, i ate one and really enjoyed it so I ate the whole pack apart form 2, i had the biggest sugar rush ever and absolutely steamed up the next couple of hills, not even Dan could catch me, but 10mins later after the instant sugar hit had worn off I had the biggest bonk ever, totally fect ;D Taught me a good lesson though and I haven't done it again since Back on the topic, i love the jaffa, but im also partial to a spot of malt loaf and as Caz said the Hub Flapjacks rule, espeially the choc one's always buy a couple to bring home to North Wales Perhaps you could start posting them down to us Caz ;D

We found him sat at the top looking smug and full of energy... ...ten minutes later he was off and pushing. ;D

Its gotta be Jelly Babies ;D I rode a 50 mile loop around Ben Nevis last year and we were on the last 10-15 miles outside Kinlochleven when one of the lads pulled out a packet. WOW The taste and the morale boost was great

On the Snowdonia Enduro I had a slice of cake every lap. It was something Soreen made and I think it was new - a fruit loaf? It was a lot denser than malt loaf and quite hard to chew when you're panting up a big hill! (Not to mention trying to unwrap it from the tinfoil as you're riding - I had to emergency stop to pick one up I'd just managed to get out!)

I very rarely eat when I'm out for a ride but if I'm doing an enduro I'll try and use a combination of energy gel's and banana's at roughly 40min intervals. Banana's are the best really because they're easy to store and nice to eat while you're puffing and panting away. I think the soft texture helps and they're very easy on the digestive system giving no cramps etc. Gel's are absolutely foul but a necessary evil unfortunately, hate that texture in my gob and always thank god I'm not a woman/gay!!!! ;D
