Isn't that the basic entry as well Suppose when you think what you get for it (baggage transport, all you food, etc etc) it isn't that bad but still a big wedge to fork out for an event, defo be an amazing achievement tho i will come along and be your service crew oggy dont think i will be doing that one for charity, be silly to pay that much.. Dont think ill be doing it this year, gona spend my cash on an alps trip in summer 2010, wont have to ride up a bloody hill all week there

Yep and with a gym i can use 7 days a week i should be fine ;D You'll be doing well if you can develop the required endurance in a gym mate. It's really something you need to plan for long term. Set yourself the goal of doing it in 2011. What about some Merida's first? You've not ridden since when?

Cheers for the advice mate its not just the gym it also includes fartlek training etc we have to do 3 times a week in work. Im not planning on taking it seriously and not fussed if i came last its just something i want to achieve thats why i was leaving it late to decide how things are, if i dont feel like i cant do it then i will leave it until 2011. I am planning the Dyfi and a few Meridas next year to sike myself up. As for the last time i did a full trail it was the beginning of March.

Rob have you been doing Fartlek training on the mountain bike? Yes mate around the airfield as my bike is down here with me and do it most evenings. Only just started running again but nowhere near including that into a running programme yet. Warm up with a steady ride for 10 minutes. Cycle hard, above race pace for 4-5 minutes. Cycle slowly for 1 minute. Repeat 6-8 time. Cool down at a steady pace for 10 minutes. Tough work though ;D

Your not wrong mate there is so many variations, Interval training are over a longer period while fartlek are short and frequent.

I wouldnt have thought about Youth Hostels other than for the blog. I'd certainly be up for a week trip though - great motivation to get myself fit again in a hurry. Definately fancy one of those 24hr team events too mind - great social event with all the volunteer mechanics, BBQ chefs, beer monitors etc. Teams of 4 soon turn into 10 dont they!! ;D

I know and it has nothing to do for preperation for a 7 day enduro event, this is just a thing to get my fitness back up to where it was before my op as im now 13 weeks in which means i can start normal mtb'ing soon, everything else will come at a later stage.
