Right everybody, Sunday the 17th of October we are holding the annual Firemans Race at Llandegla MTB centre. As usual we are only able to put the event on with the kind assistance of the staff and owners at ONE PLANET ADVENTURE, TILHILL FORESTRY and ALF JONES CYCLES . 11:15 am start, £8 if your in the Fire Service, £10 if your not, £12 for entries after the 10th of October. All profit will be donated to THE FIREFIGHTERS CHARITY. 3/4 laps of 4/6 miles Full medical back-up from North Wales Mountain Rescue, If you don't know about the event please see last years thread or ask around, always a good day out with plenty of stories from people who have never raced before and many who has raced for years. Categories are on the entry form i have attached, any other question please ask. And if anybody fancies being a marshal on the day, i would be very grateful! Cheers. Attachments:

Think I'll enter this, was meaning to do it last year and just never got around to it. How do you enter? Are you having a go on the one wheeled machine?

I too am thinking of entering this, my next door neighbor is a fireman as well as a MTB'er.
He did it last year, so I think we might do it this year.

How do the distances work?
Is it 3 laps of 4 miles for the ladies/veterans and 4 laps of 6 for everyone else? Or if you've done 3 laps and can't be bothered with the 4th can you drop out and still get a time/position?
One of the guys at work wants to enter but he falls into the veterans category and doesn't want to have to do the short course because he's too old ;D
Should he just lie about his age on the form?

No Thistle its 3 or 4 laps depending on class or a couple of things, The lap amount depends on, 1- the final course length and 2- the conditions on the day. Most organisers put this in for some flexabilty depending on weather etc. If your mate wants to to do the extra lap thats no problem, just tell myself or the time keeper on the day and we can sort something out.

Just downloaded the entry form and noticed that I only have to do 2/3 laps as I'm classed as a Vet ;D May be tempted after all

Really fancied doing this but sadly its 5 days after my op Hopefully they will do it again next year.Scrap that, Op now 2 days after the event so i should be there
