Great ride today despite it lashing down from the start till the finish of the ride, the fantastic last desent + views of the lake made up for the soaking Big thanks to Smithy + Steve for leading + everyone else who turned up, Thanks to Rupert for the recovery cake made by Mrs Rupert nice to meet some members ive not ridden with before + great to see some more Bog snorkling aswell ;D Only took a few pics before my camera got wet + packed up + most of them were blurry
Well what can I say except that was a bloody filthy wet 19 miles, a few offs - the best being Toms (jobee87) straight into a stinking filthy bog, well done Tom you gave us all a good laugh.
The rain never let up the whole ride, everyone got drenched and totally covered in thick mud, teeth grinding slippy rocks and roots on off piste sections made for some pretty hairy moments and luckily nobody was seriously hurt.
Big thanks to Smithy and Steve for leading us astray, really enjoyed it despite the foul weather.
Only a few photos from me today as the camera ended up being put in my backpack away from the wet.
Many thanks everybody for joining me today, company much appreciated. A damp day with light rain, but made interesting riding. A big thank you to Steve's input of knowledge half way round he introduced us to some very interesting sections. 22 miles I make it, done and dusted by 1.30. Think all these days out in the wildness Mr Toppler has been doing, have gone to his head, he brought his leopard skin uggs to wear as you can see in the pixs
Thanks to Smithy ably assisted by Steve for a great ride today. I had no idea where I was for large parts of the route, so many sneaky tracks and fireroads that I never new were there. Whenever I thought "I know where we're going next", we went a different way and found some other bit of new trail. Final descent was great, but would like to try it in the dry next time
