Started from the Coedty car park, the going was steady but energy zapping after all the rain / snow made for some huge puddles and some very boggy ground in places.
Ended up doing 12 miles and I think we felt it. The testing terrain made for a fair few comical offs including Carl doing his classic (copyrighted) OTB act (again!).
On reaching the old quarry ruins we had a rest and lunch, but the wind up there was really icy cold and I think we stayed up there a little too long which lead to some very cold heads, hands and feet for a few of us, the descent back down was made interesting by a cold numb nut and frozen hands.
All in all a very enjoyable outing with the usual stunning views.
Thanks to all that turned up, nice to see the usual hardcore mtb suspects (no roadies here!) and newbie Bob who handled the testing terrain like a true mtber.
A big thanks to Carl for the lift, cheers mate.
Hopefully see you all soon.

well done for braving the conditions up there. I was thinking of you as i was walking around Conwy mountain! looked like there was some fresh snow over that way?

Looks a good ride, and glad to see the sun came out for you as well. Looked a few clouds over the mountains when I was looking from Penmachno on my early ride this morning. I was the first one out around the trail, breaking the ice in all the puddles. Only saw one dog walker the whole way round. Today I almost understood what makes morning people tick

Thanks to Gus and Jeff for organising and leading the ride, and thanks to everyone for being so friendly and welcoming! My first ride with other people, and I really enjoyed it - appreciated your thoughtfulness. I can see from those shots from behind why I'm trying weight watchers! See you soon. Bob (Cybi)

Nice one folks...it seems like ages ago since I last rode around there, probably because it was, but I shall return once I get a few things sorted. Shot of the day for me is this one

Great photos, went up there a few weeks ago with my daughter and the dogs, stunning place and quite eerie at times. Have to thank MBNW, because i wouldn't of known where half of these places are, if not for the good folk on here and their navigational skills
