As it says in the title: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-11361524A 54-year-old man has collapsed and died when mountain biking along a popular forest track in Snowdonia. Hopefully it was nobody off the forum

Just found out about this now, I was up there today, it was very wet and generally hard work. Commiserations to his family.

According to the leader today his name is David Evans, he hails from Flint and used to be a teacher at a school in Queensferry... My only hope is that it was a health issue and not a trail issue

My only hope is that it was a health issue and not a trail issue "The 54-year-old man, who has not been named, suffered chest pains while climbing a steep slope with his brother and a friend." I don't think that's the sort of 'trail issue' you were thinking about

This is, of course, very sad news - particular for the rider's friends and family.
However, on a more positive note, its a good way to go, doing something you (presumably) really enjoy.
