Cheers guys, good to see you both today. And thanks for the words of encouragement First tri of the season for most today, Chirk Sprint Triathlon. 400 meter pool swim, 27Km bike followed by a 5Km run. Not too sure of my finish time yet as the official results have yet to be posted up, but feel I beat my time for last year, so more than happy with that. The swim was as you'd expect, 16 lengths of a standard swimming pool. The bike was an out and back route down the Glyn Ceiriog Valley, and with a horrible headwind on the way out accompanied with a slight climb in the road I was glad to reach the turn point. The return leg was a blast and I felt like I was flying down the road, until I hit the climb up the hill Once I'd racked my bike and swapped shoes it was time for the dreaded run. However, for some unknown reason I felt pretty good, which is a first for me, and managed not to get overtaken by anyone Next up is the Ruthin Sprint in a fortnight and then The Slateman Standard Distance the following week. Then time to relax with a weekend mountian biking in The Lakes As well as myself, there were also another two MBNW members racing out there today, Lou and Bev. Again, I have no idea of how both of the got on yet, but will let you all know when the results are published

Ah,that perhaps explains why more than a few competitors said hi as if they knew me,or I should have known them, But,what was odd,a competitor in Graham Weigh kit, came past quite a bit after you Chris,he was going noticibly, notacibly, quite a bit slower than you,but still managed to come back down before you,odd that. Anyway, apologies to anyone whom I seemed a bit vague to.

That is strange as I know for a fact no-one overtook me on the bike leg Anyway, provisional results are in and my overall time is 1.14.14 Really pleased with that time as I'd set myself the target of sub 1.15 And as last year's time was 1.19.20 it shows that putting in the work over the long winter months is doing some good. A couple of pics, and no laughing at the gimp suit Forgot to mention another MBNW member out there today was Jonsey.

A bit of work on your run will put you well up the rankings; it's respectable, being after a bike ride. Have you done back to back bike/run in training? Again well done The gimp suit fits well

Just noticed the helmet. What's all that about? Haha These baggy-panters know nothing of aero-dynamics; and how can a helmet be "gay"
