Bugger, I still sit down to pi$$ Whn you get to certain age all the best things are done with support to your buttocks, going to the loo {cant read mags stood up, bike mags not any other )}, riding a bike, posting a comment, watching TV. Cant think of any other activities. Memory must be going as very old.

Looking good John, you do realise it's only a means to an end until you can get back out on the proper bike though Hope you enjoy it nonetheless, being able to ride straight from your door will be a lot more convenient to get some miles in though .

John, get a bike with a triple! It's a godsend for trackling stuff like Pen y Pass type hills. A compacts ok if your a stick insect with bamboo light limbs Whats all this machoism about triples? I sometimes wonder what goes thru some of your heads. I have three roadie bikes : one with compact; one with triple and a fixie; now what do i do when i go to the toilet??? On the continent they usually use triples instead of compacts; I was talking to riders in France and they are critical of Brits riding big gears. I've just sone a journey round Ventoux and most of the riders had triples. Remember big gears bad knees and usually used by time testers Regards from a sunny France

To get the post back on track so to speak, believe John has made the same school boy mistake that all parents do. DO NOT, under any circumstances let your child on a bike, especially yours. what happens is that the quality of your rides goes down because you take the little darlings out and then they start stealing bits of your bikes, or possibly your bike and you then spend all your money that you would have spent on your bikes that you dont have on bikes that they do have. Well thats how it seems to work anyway in my house.
