Hi Cyclone, Sorry, I somehow missed your post on here, No I didn't get round to speaking to Canyon as I was distracted by the Saracens on offer, to the degree that I have bought one and will hopefully be picking it up this week.
Christian - too late but thanks. I currently own a Whyte and love it but a full suspension one, but that will be going to make way for a new project.
All the best
Nick

Sam, Stunning bike, but frame alone far more than I paid for my whole bike. Saracen Kili Expert residing in the shed, has had a few outings and I must admit that for the money I am extremely impressed!
I have changed the front tyre from the Standard Rocket Ron to Nobby Nic - think there may be plans afoot to do the same on the rear due to the gloopy conditions round here at the moment. Standard Deore brakes have been great in the mud and water too, cannot be faulted.
Feels extremely lively uphill and doesn't feel too cumbersome when the trail starts to get twisty, this could be in part down to wide bars fitted. Need to take it to a trail centre maybe to see how it copes there, unfortunately work commitments men that won't happen until between Xmas and New Year at the earliest :-(
Only couple of shortcomings have been minor and are:-
1) Lack of clearance between the back wheel and the seatpost tube/front mech means mud seems to gather there. 2) The finish on the frame is good but not fantastic - being really picky here
All in all - I love it and will make a superb winter bike/XC mile muncher for the Summer.
Just need to sell my Whyte and finally decide on a full suspension bike for the Spring!!
Thanks to all for the advice
All the best
Nick
