As it coming to the end of 2013 it good to look forward to a new year of biking but also to look back on what you've achieved this year. Whether it be a fastest lap of the Marin, pulling your first wheelie or going on your first ride we've all got a biking highlight So what is your 2013 biking highlight?

Mine has to be the ride you me and Chris did up Conwy mountain/Drum and beyond. Real 'Mountain biking'. We must do that next year, with a camp included.

not mtbing sorry but the mini tour of Lleyn a few of us girls did, the freedom of not having a car with us to go back to at the end of each day was refreshing ! roll on next year and plenty of adventures!!

Borrowdale bash + 10 miles.
Dyfi endura weekend.
Gt and inners weekend.
All MTB
As Chris said, though ive done over 2000 miles on the road and a couple of sportive this year, none of them have given me a buzz, abscess yes, a couple have given me a sense of achievement, That said i still wouldn't be with out the Ribble as i can just ride from the door,

It's a close one between CyB enduro and Ruthin enduro.
Ruthin, as it was my first event, and completed it with Mike (Mike2)
CyB, it was the furthest, and was amazed by my new Cannondale. (Up hill, not down!)
Look forward to more organised events, lots of rides and greatest fun next year with you guys. Geeze, I'm welling up here....!

Mine's got to be conwy mountain and drum on a boiling hot day in June , we were riding for hours and just one of those days you don't want to end. Second I think would be a mast to mast loop on the clwyds. But a great year of riding all round , made up for the crap weather the year before

Highlight for me has to be amazing myself at been able to do the Marin / Penmachno combined ride, knackered at the end tho Very closely followed by the Climach Xtra route on me own, interesting navigation, gnarly descents & a lot going on with no big gaps. Also the 3 lakes route from the Marin was special as well Ambitions for 2014? Maybe the Snowdon South ridge, trying Antur Stiniog & NOT to fall off - it hurts

The biking highlight for me has to be my Scottish tour back in May, awesome part of the world. As for mtbing, it has to be the Dyfi as I really enjoyed the event this year. As usual not done as much as I would have liked to have done but got a few plans for 2014

I've got some good memories of this year's riding. And like most other people on this forum, must confess to having spent a bit too much time on the road bike rather than the mountain bike. However, I cannot think of a single road ride that really sticks out as a great day in the saddle, whereas i can instantly pick out a number of mountain bike rides, so in no particular order - The ride Tony, Jeff and myself done over Drum and the surrounding area. The first outing on the hardtail for over 12 months and a true 'out in the wilderness' ride. No man made trails, just some local knowledge. It reminded my what mountain biking was all about. The 'Borrodale Bash' weekend. We had a number of weekends away this year, but this was by far the best of the lot. Great company, fantastic weather and quite simply some of the best natural riding I have had the pleasure of riding. And what a better way to share it than with a great bunch of people who just MTFU and get on with it, no whinging, no moaning. If Carlsberg made biking weekends....... Two other rides that stick out are the '3 Lakes Loop', (Starting at the marin and taking in The Geirionydd, The Crafnant and The Cowlyd), and also the Marin / Penmachno Loop. Both of there rides were enjoyable not only for the company and the satisfaction of doing a big day n the saddle, but for the simple fact that I'd attempted to do then in 2012 but as either beaten by the time or because I lost the motivation the continue. Favourite Forum Ride ? November's ride around The Marin with 50 other like minded people. How Oggy managed to pull that off I still don't know, but so glad it all came together. Here's to more of the same next year

Like Chris, 2013 saw lots of fantastic times for me. Riding in Bulgaria, the Alps (bring on next year) and the Borrowdale bash weekend as well as lots of other amazing experiences with some of my best mates, the forum has made all this possible and long may it continue in bringing like minded people with a love of throwing themselves down a mountain on 2 wheels together. For me, though, I think the thing that has blown me away more than anything is that Jake has turned from a "beginner" to a great little rider who can ride most things thrown at him including Antur Stiniog and the alps and he is actually whipping the ass of the climbs let alone the descents and what's more he loves it and all the wonderful people he's met along the way. Thank you to everyone, especially the "swinger's", you know who you are for making all this happen x

Long Mynd Batch Burner event.....just amazed at how well organised and well supported this event was by the locals. Fully natural trail with a few cheek footpaths opened up especially for this.
Closely followed by Coed Y Brenin.....have done this one three times and its a hoot :-)
Favourite trail ridden this year.....The Wayfarer was good. Just had the weather right, although there was one grassy descent my life flashed before my eyes. Real sense of wilderness
All the best and a Merry Christmas
