After reading about this last year I quite fancy the idea of giving it a go: bearbonesbikepacking.co.uk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2961The idea is to sleep in a tent, bothy or under a tarp etc for one night every month during the year. I thought I'd put it out to you all to see if it drums any interest. Do it on your own or we could make a massive out of it. I appreciate that not many folk will like to sleep in a tent during January but hey hoy!! In 12 months time I'm not saying that I would have done it but I'd like to think I'd give it a damn good go. As we all know we have 'other' things that get in the way of biking let alone a night away!! For my first one, I'm thinking of camping in the forestry somewhere near Aber Falls. At least it won't be as cold as being in the open and there's plenty of wood available Thoughts please

On a serious note, doing an overnighter in either the bothy or camping is on my 'to do' list for this year, so I'll join you for at least one of the nights. The problem with getting one in a month is as you say, people have other things on When you decide when you're going, post up the dates and I'm sure some people will join you if they can.

After camping in Africa every day for 9 years, then, then once a month in cold wet Wales seems just about do-able, count me in. Smithy might be up for it too, if you give him a months notice!

I'm usually up for a spot of wild camping. As long as there's plenty of fuel its grand!

Would definitely be up for joining you on at least one of these. Done quite a few wild camps in the past and really enjoyed them.

Ok its good to see there may be interest in this. It doesn't matter if its one night or whatever as I may not do more than one myself
After checking with my wife diary, I can do the Saturday night of the 11th or 18th of January. Obviously this is weather dependent, so I'll confirm if its a goer by Thursday evening 9th of January with route map/meet point etc in the PLAN YER RIDES section, if its a yes. If its a no then the same will apply for the following week. The route I have in mind is a 13 miler from Conwy, to Tal y Fan then the Roman Road to the forestry near Aber Falls or there abouts....
If I jib out then you're welcome to go on an overnighter and then take the Pish out of me for jibbing
Fingers crossed on the weather and get in the shed and hunt down your overnight thermals!!!

Really fancy having a go at this. Not sure of the routes you've got in mind but I prefer to ride my bike than push it Also need to try and work out how to carry all the gear plus a bottle of rouge
