Nothing bad about it, it's just the stuff that is skimmed off the top of the milk when manufacturing cheese. Whack it in to provide muscle nutrition post exercise. Cheap stuff does result in disgusting protein farts which is the obvious downside!

Ive tried mixing in a little psyllium husk for easy transit. Tastes vile! I put 50g of All Bran with a handful of blueberries in a bowlful of water, stick it in the fridge overnight and have it incorporated in my breakfast 2-3 times a week. Masterblaster!

Depends what your using it for, but here's a thought, whey protein same as casein is a rather complicated protein to break down, the general consensus is you have 30mins to an hour half ish to get your protein in after your initial workout( I don't agree but that's my opinion) so you buy whey protein which says on the pack 40g of protein per serving. So if your working from the above 30 mins hour half statement that sounds ace. Well whey protein is digested and absorbed into the system at 8g per hour approx because it's a complicated protein so 1hr and 30 mins you will absorb 12 grams so you will not be getting that 40g! That's not to say you will not use the full 40 as it still gets digested. On the other hand you have pea protein which is a clean natural protein( although supplemented with leucine to make it a complete protein to sell on the shelves) it is absorbed at 15grams per hour approx so hour and half around 22.5g is absorbed. It's more expensive and rank but i used it as an example. When buying whey make sure you read the ingriedients, one or two are supplemented with soy protein, steer well clear! All of the above are just some examples and figures, I use whey but not every day and only when I'm in a rush or fancy peanut butter and choc whey shake after a leg day! I prefer to stick to food, eggs, fish, meat, nuts and dairy for my protein
