Giving this some thought, I believe it makes the Dyfi Enduro look like a walk in the park.

I was giving it some thought whilst a friend decided to enter me! I was still thinking about it! Rider number 138 :-)

I've entered but looks like I'll have to look into it as well I haven't read or heard any of the horror stories yet, but I will do.

Did the 1/2 distance last year and that wasn't that bad so this year I've decided to mtfu and do the full distance, so on that note I'm in

Shouldn't be that bad. The beast ends up being about 33km if you take the shortcut, and that's usually an afternoon ride for me. 55km over the whole day should be easy enough.

Looking forward to your report then Nothing like doing the beast I didn't say I was going! I can't plan that far ahead, was just a guesstimate. What's it like if it's not like the beast? Surely just standard CyB trails but a bit longer?

I did the full enduro last year, as you haven't done either the Dyfi or CyB you understandably have a few questions.
I did the full CyB enduro last year, it took nearly 6 hours. It does use some of the trails, but also a large amount of other routes. My advice to you would be to get a ticket and ride it... It's a good day out, if nothing more.
Any other questions, ask away. There's no such thing as a stupid question, just a stupid answer

Thanks for the answer I'm considering doing it, it sounds like a laugh and it's always good to ride some new trails, I probably wouldn't be bothered if it was just the main trails. Sounds like a good long day in the saddle too, I've not done a properly long ride in ages! Problem is it's around the submission time for my thesis so I'd rather not commit to anything There's always next year!

Hi ilovedirt,
Pretty much as carlm says. Done the Coed Y Brenin enduro...short distance and long previously.
Really good fun and good atmosphere with plenty of off piste riding to keep it interesting.
The 55k is great, the 25k ok but bit too short. If you aren't sure about the distance they have a shortcut after the cutoff for the short ride which I think takes it to around 40k ish. Its hard work but worth doing. The organisers try to mix it up a bit every year where possible. Sign up for the long and do what you feel you can on the day
All the best
Nick
