Thanks For getting this up on the forum Grace, great event!! I started the big event with Simon. We got to a cracking pace up to the second feed station, where we split right for the long route. Unfortunately 200m after that there was a fork off the tar road onto a bridleway with no arrow. We stopped undecided, then saw a gate marshal on the bridleway a quarter of a mile away. We carried on this trail for a good two to three miles (picking up a puncture each!), until we found we were actually going the wrong way up the return route and had missed the loop out! Got back to the split and continued to the finish on the short route. As mentioned, a great event with friendly marshals manning the gates and busy junctions, good quality feed stations, interesting and scenic route only let down by insufficient 6"x4" arrowing on purple background. If the arrowing was on A4, yellow background and 10% more in numbers on the course, it would be a 10 out of 10 from me! Garmin, with a downloaded route for next years event I reckon. A BIG thanks to Si for the company and dragging me round, really appreciated! Well recommended event, hopefully we'll have a bigger MBNW posse there next year camping ??

Not much else from me to add, other than to reiterate what Aled has already said. It really is a good little event, nice atmosphere and the usual big uphills but some great descents to make up for it. And to top it all off a meal at the end of the ride included in your entry fee, along with camping if you're staying over it's not a bad deal at all - not to mention it's all for a worthwhile cause. Saw Sam Houghton's mum there, she said herself that it is a day of mixed emotions for her, but she gets strength from knowing Sam would've loved it. And it was good to have Aled's company on the way round.

Did you enjoy it? I did, especially the bands at the after party. Solo long course next year I think!

Ooh just seen your replies, glad you enjoyed it. Yes hopefully get some more interest next year and a group of us camping, drinking and dancing to the bands afterwards at the Brewery. Cracking little low-key event and well worth £30.
