Hi everyone. I'm really glad I found this site. I'm new to the sport/hobby and I'm looking for some trails to ride on.
I'm after some trails in wooded areas which aren't to extreme or too technical, just some enjoyable yumps/jumps, dips, roots, streams, etc.
I was going to try Marford woods. I've also ben considering Plas Power woods and Erddig. I'm not sure if they'll be any good though.
I'd rather stay south of Wrexham, down toward Chirk (anything at the Castle?) and as far east as Whitchurch.
Any ideas?

This may be a silly question, but what about llandegla ? A purpose built mountain bike trail on your doorstep. Ideal for building up fitness and technique with a range of rails from beginner to the very experienced. Failing that, there's lots of riding around the Llangollen area too, but you'd need someone local who knows the place better than me. Alternatively, get a map and get out and explore

Llandegla is a bit of an"epic" that requires a bit of planning. I will use it, but when I have time. This is more for those cheeky quick afternoon sessions before going home.

Near Ruabon. I've been riding along the Dee and on Watt's Dyke mainly so far. The mud is a nightmare though.

You probably need to get off the plain and stick to the high stuff around that area to get away from the gloopiest mud. That said Delamere is popular. Some good bits of trail on top of World's End. I think some of the Wrexham based people use Nant Y Ffrith and woods above Bersham to get to Degla but no idea on the details myself. Sent from my GT-I9505 using proboards

Yes you need to get higher - if you're in Ruabon take the road from the Garth up to go along the Eglwyseg ridge & go exploring the paths that lead off, its dry as long as you stick to the limestone bits, find Trefor rocks (quarry) & go up. When its dry the moors above are good & there's miles to explore,
