As promised to Tarbo and Dan, here's the details of the holiday cottages myself and Rupert stayed in just a mile down the road from Dalbeattie trails. And we discovered the Chinese takeaway in Dalbeattie, which we thought was rather tasty

Bike friendly, BBQ and hot tub with every cottage, and they will do short break/weekend rentals.
