Five of us braved the winter conditions to get a ride in today. I can't believe the difference between last week's ride and today's in relation to the weather. Although not too cold, it was certainly wet, both underfoot and from above. With the ride starting off over the exposed moors, it was leg sapping and tough going. And by the time we got to the road and the 'mast climb' our legs were already complaining. However the climb was soon over and we enjoyed the 'sheep track descent', which as usual was wet, but nowhere near as bad as it has been. We had one comedy off when Ian suddenly disappeared from view, only to emerge from the heather looking rather sheepish Then it was the short road section before crossing the boards into Llandegla and onto the waymarked trail. We decided to do the Red route and soon made our way past all the weekend heroes in their full face helmets After a welcome stop at the cafe for some cake and coffee, we made our way up the climb to pick up the beginning of the Offa's Descent back to the cars. To be honest, it was a really good day out on the bikes despite the weather. It was also nice to bump into both Shaun and Sam inside the cafe, good to catch up. Nice to meet Ian, always good to get new members out and riding, especially if they have never done the route before. And as usual, good to catch up with Karl and Simon, not to mention Nick on that new rocket of his. I didn't take many pictures today as it was a bit cold to be standing around, but here are the ones I did take - Bank holiday weekend next weekend, so I probably won't be out as I also have my daughter.

Great ride! Loved the introduction to natural trails although definitely tested my fitness! Thanks to everyone for making me feel welcome.
