You know summer is over when it's time for the cyclocross season to begin. And yesterday saw the first race in this year's North Wales CX Race Series take place in Mold. A great turnout in all three races (U13, U16 & Seniors), with lots of good, hard fought battles going on. Having not done much riding of any type much this year I knew it would be a bit of a struggle for me, but I wasn't quite ready for just how hard it really was. I seemed to go backwards on the start line when everybody swarmed past me. However, as the race went on I slowly got into a rhythm and started to claw back a few places. Great to catch up with a lot of people from this forum, many of whom were also taking part with Ade and John (Rhos on Sea), Gill(69 cycles), Gareth Mather (Chester CC), Simon Price (Graham Weigh) and Sam riding for himself. I saw Gill out on the course and Sam as he went past to lap me but never got o see John or Ade. Was good to catch up with Ponty Pete and Dave Woody who both came down to support their club mates and Mark and Lisa who had ridden over to lend Simon their support, even though he didn't need it as he was storming through the field to finish second overall. The next one is at Amlwch in a fortnight, so I think it's about time I started to get some form of training in
