Don't bring me into your bright Ideas ;D ;D I got the phonecall last night at a daft hour saying they had hatched this plan to go up the hill via the miners track and down the Llanberis. On paper it was a cracking plan, It went something like , "yeah, it will be a chilled ride up, take a car up to the Pen y pass carpark, ride up from there because it will be flat all the way with a bit of a climb at the end to get to the top". Ive not been that way for years an couldn't remember how bad the last climb was ;D ;D could have done with caterpillar tracks on the bikes not wheels ;D We got to the car park and it was flippin freezing but once we got going we soon warmed up, once we got nearer the top it warmed up a treat. the last emotional climb was made a bit better by watching a few people slip on ice and go hurtling down the side of the mountain on their asses, grown women crying oh and proper fit birds in their miss60 jeans and ugg boots, more suited to a walk round the trafford center than the summit of snowdon ;D Anyway heres some pics. All of the way up, we didn't stop on the way down to take any. The summit finally popped out of the cloud for the day. Token shot Frozen lake. The trail on the way up was covered in thick ice in places which made it a bit tricky carrying the bikes over. It was nice to reach the top, get a breather and head back down. Surprisingly enough the path down was more or less free of ice so we had a good run, never came close to killing a single rambler. Maybe next time ;D Cheers lads.

Done this route on the 1st of oct 2007 it was a great day NO ICE. It's hard going carrying the bikes but better than pushing the bike up Llanberis path and then going back down the same way. Will have to ride snowdon again but only when the weather is a bit warmer (no ice I hate it I always fall :-( ).

Great pics boys. ;D As far as hare-brained plens go it was about our worst but turned out to be a cracker of a day. Brilliant weather and the best scenenery this side of the Scottish border. Loved it. Ride down was a bit of a giggle slaloming all the ramblers at high speed as well. Good craic! ;D

Looks like you had a blast. Scenery is stunning Definitely better views than on the forum ride. Never mind about the hikers, we want to know how many times you fell climbing up the ice field

Had a little slip but stayed upright ;D ;D I think we all did.
There were people slippin all over the place! ;D
You couldnt beat the weather. It was brassic in Llanberis by the lake but the higher we went it got warmer and was quite pleasant at the top.

Nice pics. But Dan, are you wearing RockPorts?! And lycra pants. Did I slip once? Function over form my boy (that and the fact they're good for fcuk all else.), function over form. ;D ;D Can you suggest better?

I dunno, Id rather the slight downgrade in function from my Vans than look like a chav... Although, admitedly, the lycra kinda gets rid of that sterotype...

2 problems-
1- I'm a chav.
2- I'm an adult and couldn't be seen in public wearing ridiculous children's shoes. Lycra yes, gimp shoes NO! ;D
Oggy had Air Max classic's on, could our new cool squad run the rule over those for us please? (I won't bother asking about Martin's SPD shoes.) ;D
