Stand by for the most knarly war wound of the year, the man in question got out of hospital on Thursday after spending over a week in there. The result of a flying trip over the bars resulted in a broken collar bone and fractured spine, far out dude get the pics up m8 Here's the picture of me in the hospital, just before getting discharged www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=2018641&l=d80e5990bf&id=588003847Yes, A broken collarbone, fratured spine, a coronary pulmonary contusion with slight internal bleeding, and a really sore nose. Completely freak accident, I had been out all day with friends at Penmachno after being made redundant earlier in the week, and had completed both sections. My twin had brought himself a kayak and was up at Llyn gerionydd, so I decided to park at Nant BH and ride the road to the lake. Decided to take a short cut to the picnic area through the medow just before the car park. Grass was long so couldn't see the contors of the land, and with about 100m to go, done this!! I managed to walk to car, completely covered in blood from my nose, and had to wait about 40mins for my brother toput his stuff away. I didn't think it was that serious. He took me straight to Bangor hospital. 5 Days in Hospital with 3 days completly still until I got the brace, checks ever 3 hour for concusion and blood pressure, 15 X-rays, 2 CT scans, 1 with the radioaction injection, a month in a sling and 2 month in the back brace, and not to forget the back pain from sleeping on my back and getting up for 2 month with help at 5am. Got the all clear a month ago, and have already been back out on the MTB and Road bike, plus paintballing, and also got a new job. All that from a slight lack of cencentration, believe me, I don't ever want to repeat it!
