A British tourist has died after falling from a path while mountain biking in the French Alps
The body of Richard Castle, was found around 100m down a wooded slope in Chamonix-Mont Blanc.
Mountain service spokesman Francis Audon said: "He was on a trail called The Balcony that runs between Chamonix and the village of Argentiere when he fell."
The 60-year-old, who is thought to be a university lecturer from Brighton, East Sussex had hired a bike and gone out alone at around 10.30am on Friday.
I think when ever I go, I will be in a group!!!!!

My partner and I found 4 good trails close to our camp site in the Valgauderma valley situated near Gap. some of the trails are easy but bouncy others have tough climbs and hairy descents chugging along at about 3000ft; no cable cars to carry you up. This area is on the edge of the Ecrin National Park (no biking in the park). The camp site has free WiFi.
