Worst of it was i heard them messing around but i was half alseep and by the time i'd gotten the door unzipped they would have been away anyway. Don't get why they would bother really, would have loved to have got my hands on them.

Oh, and not that i think it was any of the guys on here but if any trawlers are on here reading this then thanks for unpegging my tent last night at about 1:30am and also for keying both sides of my car, cheers. Sorry to hear that Was your car parked next to your tent? Keying cars is about the lowest, sadest, pointless thing someone can do. Complete idiots

Mate did this ride yesterday, fell off on one of the long grassy descents.
He was transfered to Liverpool last night, does not sound like he is in great shape. Not much more info than that right now, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed he is OK.

Mate did this ride yesterday, fell off on one of the long grassy descents. That sounds nasty Hope he gets better soon. The only offs I saw were pretty funny and the riders were mostly unhurt (the guy who crashed on the flat fireroad and ended up with his legs in the air covered in grazes was laughing about it). I guess if you come off on those grassy bits you're either fine because you've landed on grass/heather or you're in a bad way because you were unlucky and hit a rock at high speed I saw someone at the end hobbling around with the St John people and wrapped up in a space blanket but not sure what happened to him.

From the lad's that were with him, it sounded like he landed on his head in a load of heather - it was at the end of a long descent into a corner, a few others came off there whilst they were waiting for an ambulance.
He was moving OK, a little concussed. So I'm hoping it's not too bad.

Eeeps...I hurt this morning! Entered the 100k, but due to mechanical misdemeanours (my mate's mech hanger snapped, and my chain) and also due to my general lack of climbing ability we missed the cut-off point for the 100k and ended up doing the 75k. Thought the whole event went really well - great marshalling, good signposting and great weather. I'll get some practise in before next years though. Oh....I didn't see anyone else from the Forum....but I did see Andy, the guy who drank the bike cleaner at the Snowdonia Enduro. He was stopped on one of the early climbs applying Power Gel to his chain.

Bit more news, he has broken a couple of bones in his neck and displaced a disc. Being operated on today
I'm hoping that's it and he will make a full recovery, I'll let you know if I hear anymore.

Great day weekend away I seemed to have missed everyone I saw a few people out on the ride. I had a really good day those grassy descents were lethal though with the rain over night and a nice fast rolling rear tyre I had a huge moment on the first one lost the back end big time under braking flipped both ways before getting things straightened up again, lesson learned unless dead straight and upright don't even breath on the brakes!
I did the 70km route got back about 3pm so was quite happy with that didn't get any proper cramps* just a few twinges other than the first climb where I got really caught up with the walkers , should of started nearer the front! Once riding properly I over took more people than over took me most of them were going uphill I can only remember once person going past me down hill and he crashed ! lucky he was ok just dented pride!
The published map wasn't entirely right I was expecting to go straight back down after the second climb up Moel Dywyll not a traverse along the top really had to dig deep at that point the decent was really good fun and worth it in hindsight. We didn't have spend so long on the main road at the end as the map suggested either that last climb after the last feed station was a real killer Im just glad a knew the route from there on as I knew that was the last proper hill and there was the scary quick gravel road once back on the other side of the main road.
I cramped up full once back and helped someone folder up their pop up tent much to their amusement !

My boss was a marshall for the Ruthin Merida (Big fella riding a KTM 450). Anyway I told him Ninja Penguin was rider 2298 and that if he should see him he should either "Push Him Off" or shout "Come on Ninja Penguin, Put some Bloody Effort in Lad". Having spotted a rider coming toward him with the corresponding number, he chose the later option. When greeted with a bemused look from the passing rider, he started to question whether or not he had the right number. On checking my text message he soon realised that shouting "Come on Ninja Penguin" at the top of his voice to rider 2268, it was no wonder the poor fella put an extra spurt on to get away from the crazy shoutin of the local lunatic. If you were rider 2268, I would just like to point out that the ramblings of the marshalls in no way reflect the ramblings of my own mind ;D This is the 5th year the boss has done the marshalling. Having spoken to him at length about the prep work / effort involved then I think thwy all deserve a big THANKYOU, from all who entered. Tales of mine sweeping, people missing signs (nearly ending up in Nanerch ;D ), helping with rear mechs, showing bail out routes, etc.... Still at least he got to ride his beloved KTM on some otherwise out of bounds areas
