MBR is the "easiest", (Discounting the Temtiwr and Yr Afon, as they're not really worth the journey for). but still a challenge My advice is to do Llandegla Black run a few times before trying the MBR.
Everyone has a different take on the trails down at CyB, i hate the dragons back now because its eaten 2 tyres in 2 rides ;D ;D
There are technical bits on all the rides mentioned above, the first time I did CyB I did the Tarw trail and found it fine, Have you done the Marin In Betws Y coed? If you have you wont have a prob down there. Like sikora has said, if you are travelling all that way you want to get a good ride out of it.
well im making the trip soon, just been looking at the trail maps and im fancy the mbr or the dragons back
Ive previousl ridden Penmacno, marin and llandegla (All routes) fine with no problems and enjoyed whinlatter last week so just want to get a good ride out of it, would prefer to spend more time riding than travelling their & back!!!!!
I noticed today that there's loads of skull and crossed bones signs going up in places - there's one on the 'black' run at the end of the MBR/Dragons back etc. (why's that classed as black - it's not that bad!), there's one at the start of Slated the second half of Abel as, one half way along Abel and one half way along at the biggest drop and there's one at Glide too.
Have there been a few accidents over the last 12 months?
This evening I did the Dragons Back but cut out the 'loop with no name' before the Adams Family and noticed that there was a GATE across the bottom of Gomez which was clipped shut and could give someone a rather nasty surprise! . It opens outwards though and there's no latch so it will slow you down rather than stop you if you hit it I didn't see it the week before when I rode down Gomez so it might normally be held open.
It's been mentioned elsewhere but not in this thread - if you're doing the Beast / Dragon's Back remember a couple of quid as there's a tea shop half way around which is open when it's busy enough ;D
