Well it was very bad news for John today. Myself, John, Dave, James (Leonthepro) and Rob Corney went to do the extend Cli-machx route around the Dyfi Forest. 30mins in to the ride john slid out on a hairy bit of trail and his shoulder had a meeting with an unforgiving rock. There was a bit of quick thinking from James and Dave as they made a sling out of an inner tube before we got John off the trail and to hospital. As he was sitting on the side of the trail with the bone protruding from his shoulder he went the whitest Ive ever seen anyone go. This is one truly Knarly war wound, big respect mate, especially after sitting in the van for a two hour journey back to Llandudno hospital with no pain killers or feck all. The hospital confirmed what we suspected, one broken collar bone Heres a couple of pics, hopefully some more of the xrays to follow soon ;D Get well soon m8

Hope you get better soon John! Definitely send it into MBR, that innertube sling is quality and should win you a prize for your pain ;D
Was it on one of the 'special' bits or part of the main route?

So thats what a broken collar bone feels like, at least I know for next time. Fair play to John he didn't moan much about it considering the pain he must of been in. One tough bloke.
The bike look OK from what a saw but it was knee deep in mud.

Get well soon it's a really uncomfy injury as broken bones goes, get a big stack of pillows to support you and don't refuse any of the painkillers on offer.
Bit more of a serious note, it's well worth a few people carrying a first aid kit, ideally after doing some Rec training, level 2 at least. OPA can do the 2 day Level 2 course, it's really well worth the money, the CCM booked a classroom at Llandegla for two days and got some brilliant guys from the Ogwen Valley mountain rescue team to run it, we managed to get about 14 people to attend both days.

Fair play John, you're a tough gezza.
I made more fuss when I had my off before you and somersaulted into the gorse bushes. Not that I could hear myself moaning and groaning above the laughter of James.
Get well soon m8.
