My routine will/is consisting of MTB rides whenever possible, (more night rides when clocks change) Road bike rides, circuit training 2-3 times per week and healthy eating, I have virtually cut out junk food, I only eat cakes or sweets for energy when out on a ride, also looking at classse to build up my core strength. Since buying a set of scales from Aldi it has made me more conciuos of my diet and weight and I am steadily losing a few lbs a week. Its making a difference as I was in a higher ratio of gears around the Marin yesterday did not entertain the granny ring. Small changes make a big difference.

Twice a year my work runs a 'corporate health initiative', the second of which started today. The aim of the current one is to circumnavigate around GB and Ireland, starting today in John O Groats and having 13 weeks to complete the circuit. Its a total of 3500 miles, and you are in teams of 4-7 people.
For some it would be easy to do 60-70 miles a week, but its not a level I would normally do, though I would like to be able to do so. Its a great motivator, and today I did 40 miles on the roadbike to get off to a good start. I am hoping that the CHI will keep me motivated right up until 1 December when it ends, and will therefore get me out on the bike regardless of the weather. Might even lose a couple of pounds along the way ;D

I tend to get out around x2 during the week during the winter, but this is mostly from my front door and nothing too technical - just to keep the fitness going.
Otherwise I do some weights/circuit training/cycle classess - depends on the weather really.

They say half an hour running is the equivalent to an hour on the bike. Works for me!

Its a great motivator, and today I did 40 miles on the roadbike to get off to a good start. Do that again this week and you've beaten that 70 mile target Your work scheme sounds simlar to the Transport for London cycle challenge, which is always a good motivator to see how many miles you can do in a month (I think I got about 600 last year, only 400 this year). It's in June though so not much use for the winter!
