Neilson beach holidays include some great mountain biking as well as loads of water sports, tennis etc etc. My wife and I have done Bitez in Turkey, Lemnos in Greece, Vassiliki in Greece and we are off to Sivota in Greece for 2 weeks biking, tennis water sports on 31st August - can't wait ;D. These holidays are excellent value especially if you go club board which includes nearly all your food. Bikes are good Gary Fisher or Orange, hard tails and fiull sussers depending on the resort. Rides range from easy to gruelling so their is plenty for all standards and the scenery is amazing. Anyone else been to Sivota? Would welcome your comments. Spinner

I'm back ! Biking was very good, but maybe not as good as Vassiliki or lemnos. Mixture of fire roads old mountain tacks, some technical (but rideable) climbs and descents. Nothing that a reasonably competent biker couldn't handle. Except maybe the heat !! It was 37degrees in the day and 29degrees at night !! Early morning ridin made it bearable once you had acclimatised. Rides ranged from 15km to 35 kms so you were usually back by 11 am ish at the latest. Shorter eveing rides were just for beginners really but good for socialising due to many stops at beaches, bars etc. Scenery spectacular, but take your eye off the trail and you may run over one of the hundreds of maountain goats or cattle that wander the hills. Some pretty steep climbing was rewarded with some nice long sweeping descents. Bikes were Gary Fisher hard tails with disc brakes and were adequate for the terrain and very well maintained by the Polish bike guide (Yatzek) who was brilliant, new his stuff and really looked after us. I'll try and post some pics, but don't hold your breath as electronic wizardry escapes me !!

Well guys just returned from 2 weeks mountain biking in Halkidiki in Greece with Neilson holidays ;D ;D. Mountain biking around the peninsula was great, ;)mostly fire roads and tracks with some that were quite tricky in places and seriously steep. Weather was good also, after a pretty nasty week before we arrived, so we dropped lucky. Did about 5 rides a week in the mornings before it got too hot averaging about 30km each. Bikes were TREK hardtails and adequate for the job although they were in the second season so will be sold off next month and new ones next year. The bike guide was a S African by the name of Sean, a great guy. Can recommend this place if you fancy a sporting holiday including some good biking
