Im off up to Scotland for the 5th to 11th October. ;D Monday to Wednesday nights staying at Innerleithen then remaining days down at Dalbeattie Can anyone recommend places to eat. drink and get merry in the above places? Shame my dates haven't matched up as Im in the glentress area inbetween the two trips planned on here. I'd like to have gone up earlier but I have to go to a christening on Sunday 4th and as Im the godfather people may notice that Im not there.

Top food in the Traquair Arms in Innerlithen, we eat there every time we go. Plenty of restaurants and pubs in pebbles just down the road, we always end in the Chinese so ain't tried anywhere else.
We only visit the St Ronans pub for a few beers in innerlithen as its next door to the bike house. Same locals every time we go there and they are very friendly to mountain bikers, watch them Scots tho as they like to drink.
Innerlithen is pretty small and isn't that busy even on the weekend, if you want a proper night out with a few more pubs then head to Pebbles or Galashiels

If its a full meal you're after, Glentress hotel wasnt bad last time I was up there. Gets busy at weekends though, bit of a wetherspoons type place. Do a pretty good bikers breakfast as well for just over a fiver when I was there and its nearly next door to the trail centre.

We ate both nights at a pub on the main street in Peebles, can't remember the name, but it was opposite the Crown Inn. The food was really nice, and cheap too. The waitress was a lovely red head, who flustered one of the lads I was with so much he asked if she recommended the stiffy toffee ;D Don't drink blue wkd in there either, same friend, same waitress. Non-stop mickey taking all night...
They also showed the Liverpool match as well...
