That website looks ace - plenty of reading!!
I would really appreciate a skills day and would appreciate someone who understands all that stuff demonstrating it and helping me to get more control over my bike and having the confidence to jump stuff instead of just rolling over it or getting off and walking!!!
Its hard to read a print-out and practise at the same time ;D ;D

we can always use the last couple of sections barring the very last one of the Marin as they are easy to double back up the fire road to repeat also the humps on the 3rd to last section would be good for rolling or jumping practice. Either that or Llandegla.

Either that or Llandegla. I think the Marin would be a little extreme really Ade, quite hard to offer tips/advice when people are flying past. The jumps are also quite nasty with a drop off to the left! Cue bodies everywhere. ;D I'd go for the Crafnant quarry anyday, decent terrain to work with (no big hills but some good slopes and a nice soft surface for falling off on. We could all park at Crafnant and head down. I'd be quite willing to help out if anyone fancies this. There're a few of us who could help with basic bike setup/ergonomics although I always seem to struggle to explain technique (just kinda happens dunnit : .

I'd really appreciate some lessons, being a novice to this game You need to get your weight back and lay off the front brake mate. Simple as. ;D (for those who've yet to meet him, Aled is the king of the front dismount!) ;D

One of the BIG problems I have is being too tense on the rough (as well as positioning/over braking!!). It's very like skiing in that, if you tense up the edges don't work, so you lose control!

If people want this organized then feel free to organize it. With Organizing a monthly forum ride and all the other things that go with the forum we really dont have the time to sort a skills day. Remember we dont get payed for this, it is just something we do, a little more help and a little less expectancy wouldn't go a miss I will gladly come along on the day to help out

I'd go along to a skills day there, it would be good fun. Might have to be on a nice warm day though, could be waiting a while.

Yeah I get your point Dan, ;D but we could also get some good pics for the War Wound section and do a session on first aid to. ;D ;D ;D. We could always tape of a section and fool other riders that its closed for maintenance. ;D

I think it would be a good idea to get a list of definite attendees. We'd need sufficient interest to make it worthwhile for those kindly enough to donate their time to teach.
Maybe a list of willing contributors too? Everyone who wants to learn skills could make a donation to cover at least some of the costs/lunch etc of contributors as a gesture of goodwill? Just an idea
Attendees: 1) Arnie
