It pains me to do this but I was wondering how many of you would appreciate a road section on the forum? I have noticed of late many of you taking to the roads in a bid to get that extra bit of fitness and also using it as part of your training regimes. I know as mountain bikers we have a god given right to take the Michael out of our skinny tyred Lycra clad counterparts but in reality cycling is cycling and road biking is just another way of getting out on your bike. Most road biking topics can be covered in the sections we already have, eg. road rides can be arranged in the 'plan your rides' section and road fitness can be covered in the fitness section. Please give your comments on weather you would like to see a road board added to the forum to discuss more road specific topics. Basically if enough people want one then I'm willing to go with the flow and put one up. If not many people do then I wont bother as we dont want random boards on the forum that nobody uses. Your thoughts please (Dan your opinions will be ignored as we all know how you like to spend your weekends now )

You could put it under "Off Topic" things I don't mind as long as other people don't mind the odd road related discussions in the other sections and seeing a few road rides planned every now and then. I don't tend to post much about road rides that I do - usually because they're not very exciting and I don't think anyone else will find it that interesting either!

Im remaining on the fence on this one, other people have mentioned it so that why im bringing it up. The only thing that I will say is that perhaps if we did have a roadie section then it may attract a few roadies to the forum and in all fairness they do know there stuff about fitness etc and its always good to have more people on board. On the other hand road bikes are very Gay and mountain biking will always be much more fun and it's far cooler

See Oggy the facy that your thinking about having a roadie section means its only a matter of time before your fully out of the closet, Your gay anyway as you where lycra on your gay XC mountain bike so why not go all the way and get a roadie. ;D I have just c hecked out my garage and remembered I have mountain bike, so off to Altura trail at the weekend and some other delights on offer up there.

Thanks for the completely useless comment Ady. I would like to know weather you would like a roadie section, my present perverse fetish for XC bikes and Lycra is another subject and has completely nothing to do with the question that has been asked. A simple yes or no will suffice ;D Ps,. stop being a gay boy and get your ass to the marin with me this week, bring your lights

(Dan your opinions will be ignored as we all know how you like to spend your weekends now ) I was holding back up to now but I think you deserve this- ;D I think he's out of the closet Ady. A big yes from me, we're all cyclists at the end of the day and believe it or not the roadies have a lot to offer.

Unless someone wants to set up a RBNW... (someone suggested it a while ago as a joke ) Think I'll sit on the fence - I don't need a roadie message board when there's enough mountain bikers here who ride road bikes as well

You have got to be having a fookin giraffe? Mountain Biking North Wales Sitting on a fence is marginally more comfortable than sitting on a road bike i suppose I gotta agree with Sausage Butty on this one. This is a mountain bike forum. If i wanted to read about road cycling, i'd have joined a road cycling forum. It's no skin off my nose if anyone wants to plan and discuss pounding some tarmac but truthfully, i'd rather watch paint dry than read about it. If the general consensus is in favour of a Roadie Bored Board, could we have a Darkside section for everything related to it, so its separate from the MTB side of things please.

Id rather be in a sandy place chasing Mr Taliban than read tarmac lovers stuff but thats just me so a Roadie Darkside section for all topics for the road hugging fans amongst us sounds fine to me ;D
