Hi guys
Been lurking in the background for a month or so and have really been enjoying the forum. I came across the site whilst off sick recovering from a snapped Achilles Tendon thanks to The Graveyard section of The Wall down at Afan. (Do not drop into a rocky gully with a straight leg..... bend ze knees!!) Your site has been really helpful in keeping me focused on my road to fitness as I can't wait to hit the runs asap. Realistically it will probably be in the new year, but hey, at least I can get a few road miles in until then. Came out of the Aircast last week, so now it is lots of physioterrorist action. Hope to meet up for a forum ride in 2010.

I remember my first trip to Afan and the graveyard very well. I got caught on top of one of the rocks and didn't quite get my foot down in time and took a fall off the top, lucky just a few cuts and bruises nothing too serious.

Hi nssDaz
Probably the same spot, bit of a rock garden with a drop-off on the left into a gully. It was my first trip there & unfortunately I just went for it rather than carrying out a bit of a recce first. We all learn by our mistakes I guess. Could have been a lot worse, I was on my own and it was mid-week..... not many folk about, luckily I managed to hobble back to the car feeling as if I had a universal joint instead of an ankle.... yuk! I suppose at 55 I should start acting my age.......... nah! See you in 2010

Cheers Scrumpie, tis appreciated.
I am getting some tarmac miles in to build up my calf muscle as well as weekly physio gym sessions courtesy of the NHS. It's just soooo nice to be in two shoes once more.
