After this months successful forum ride, I must have asked several riders "What your name on the forum?" This is probably a common occurance to new riders to the forum so how about this? When clicking on the members name on the forum you can get a (cheesy) photo of the rider and some simple info such as, fav trails etc. So similar to Facebook where you can gather basic info on the rider (no I'm not a stalker ) Apologies if you can already do this

Good idea m8 but I carnt find a function in the forum controls that will enable us to do it.
The only real way to display info like that is in your profile. If you click on ‘profile’ then click on ‘modify profile’ then you can write things in the ‘Personal Text’ box, info typed in here will come up underneath your avatar. You can also type things in to the Signature’ box, text typed in here will appear underneath all of your posts.
I will try and look in to it further as it is a cool idea.
Ps you’re a stalker ;D

The forum is an "off the shelf" type thing and I doubt the software is controlled by the MBNW admins to that extent. Unless the feature is already built in and needs switching on. Unless everyone could have a page made on the MBNW server and you put a link to it in your signature? Just something simple like you suggest, but it should be optional: some people might not like to advertise that they are up at llandegla every saturday from 9:30 until 12:30 and ride a 2009 giant anthem x3

In theory we've got the "welcome to new members" section for that!

As there must be at least one picture of everyone that goes on the Forum ride, is there anyway we could attach a 'tag' to them I've often thought of editing pictures before I post them, adding a 'text box' with the name of who's in the picture. Something like this - Unfortunately, I don't know the names of half the people I take pictures of to anable me to do this

In theory we've got the "welcome to new members" section for that! Ay but a quick look reveals there's only me that said "hi" and attached a pic In theory a good idea tho. Previous experience of typically "male-orientated" forums would suggest it is not a particularly good idea for a female who is relatively good looking to start posting pics of herself on the forum - she is likely to be bombarded with PM's

In theory we've got the "welcome to new members" section for that! All very true but, when you're a new member its not that straightforward to know how to post pics as some long standing members still are unable to do it Tarbo has got it sussed ;D maybe a link from your username to a pic of you : 1, in your biking gear and 2, in your civvey's as its surprising how you chat to someone on the ride only to find you don't recognise them in normal clothes while having a post ride drink

thats very true- and just as I get a few more names and faces sorted out they change their bke and that alway s muddles me up as well. people are getting more friendly on the forum rides and are asking names ( i ask everyone every time-sorry everyone ) we could have name stickers on our lids(can't bring myself to say helmet anymore ,Tarbo!)

Previous experience of typically "male-orientated" forums would suggest it is not a particularly good idea for a female who is relatively good looking to start posting pics of herself on the forum - she is likely to be bombarded with PM's Happens the other way around as well you know Freedi ;D I wish we could have name stickers on our lids(can't bring myself to say helmet anymore ,Tarbo!) Not a bad idea, my name's Christopher, that would fit on my helmet Luckily some people have short names like Dan and Ady for example ;D
