No idea if this has been suggested before but has it ever been suggested adding all members postcodes to a member map at all?? Would be nice to see who's local when arranging local rides etc. I've seen this facility on a couple of other forums and it was optional to put yourself on.
Seems the possibility is there for this forum with the Interactive Map already there - which would get too crowded with members on too, but maybe a seperate one with its own heading??

I think many members wouldn't like to 'advertise' where several thousand pounds worth of bikes are stored Sorry just my two penn'orth.

Agree with Hugzee. It could be voluntary, but might look a bit empty Maybe you could place your own marker, and put it as close to your house as you like? Getting the forum membership details onto www.mbnw.co.uk so people can add their markers, now that might be a challenge

Agree with not giving out addresses due to security - but on another forum i was on it only needed the 1st half of the postcode - ie CH66 for me. That narrows it down enough for a large scale map surely?

Dunno, my full postcode won't show you where I live on either Google or Bing maps ;D

If people filled in their location in their profile, then maybe you wouldn't need a map The fact that some people don't / won't fill that in, may be an indication to how they value their privacy Just my thoughts.
