In my opinion you can afford to be a bit more lazy on a full sus, you can hit the trail sitting down and coast over most of the rough stuff... Yep, that's why i went for a bouncer ;D

I think suspension technology has improved a great deal, as has material advances in making things lighter, but i'd still like to think that a hardtail is faster uphill.
One thing i find with my Rockhopper on bumpy ground is that i struggle to get a pedal stroke in, due to being thrown around by the rear end - which i suppose is where the Full Sus will excel.

Have you got a shortlist for your potential new full-susser purchase then Sikora? (or have i missed it on another thread?)

The original plan was to go for a Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Comp. I found a company selling 2007 models for £1275
But, all this spare time from being out of work has got me loooking at other potential bikes.

Out of the three, I prefer the look of the Stumpy.

The Stumpy is still my first choice.
I'm wary of spending so much on the Carbon framed Rush 4 - simply because i'm not the lightest rider in the world, but it looks so nice!

Anyone care to throw any other options into the mix?
I suppose i'm looking for a do it all full susser with around 5" of travel £1500 is the max i'm willing to spend really
