Anyone had this done? Wondering if there is much point as ive already purchased my bike, just thinking of comfort on the bike really as I often suffer from a sore backside after about 20k and my knees tend to start acheing too, wondering if it could be down to poor position or some body geometry irregularity?? Shame that ive already bought my bike really as I reckon I could have blagged a free one of these at the concept store for free when spending 2.5g

badly set up. Aching knees= low saddle. sore back = over reaching. sore bum=wrong saddle for your physyology or linked to previous probs. Was it set up on a "jig"?

What is Specialized Custom fit? Do you get a sore lower back? From what I can gather they help set the bike in terms of saddle height and position, check your reach but they can also check for things such as leg length and try and balance any iregularites with insoles etc, I would assume they can set cleats in SPD etc too With regards to the back mate not really, only if I dont warm up on the Marin as it throws in at the deep end from the off! Just a sore arse really but I need to swap my saddles over and see if that helps??

With increasing saddle miles of late ive been getting a bit of a raw ass (que the childish jokes so ive bought some assos Chamois cream today., rather looking forward to getting lubed up tommorow and seeing what it does ;D Saddles are very rider specific, could be worth trying some others No real point in me recomending a saddle as they are so specific to the individual. I have fizik on the vp and hate it but other people swear by them (im to tight to change it at the moment) I have a wtb silvado on the giant and that probably the best saddle ive ever had and I have a selle Italia SLR on the roadie which is pretty comfy for a razor blade. I reckon one of the problems with the bikes we ride is that they arent actually designed to be pedaled long distances as we do, so stems are shorter, angles and tube lengths are designed for handling rather than distance comfort etc. As for your knees hurting it does sound like your saddle could be to low, or perhaps its just your old age ;D

Got mine from Tweeks. Try a nice hard saddle m8, the harder ones are generally more comfortable on longer rides due to giving more support and less chaffing. The selle Italia ones are really good kit Also have a play with the position especially the tilt as having it titled to far in a certain direction puts more pressure on certain parts, Ive adjusted this in the past and its made a massive difference.

I've got a Charge Spoon saddle on the giant it's not an expensive saddle but bloody comfy, maybe worth a gamble for £20
