Just got back from doing Llandegla with mtbman (Phil), ady, and Phil's mate Ali. No Xybadog though - strangely, neither Phil or I could get hold of him this morning Did the mast route and the Red/Black. Took us 4 hours, and boy am i knackered now! Mast route was a right laugh. Plenty of hub deep puddles, varying from water to thick mud! Think all 4 of us came off at some point The decent was fun - have to watch your pedals on the verges either side though. The boardwalk sections were a little tricky too with the high winds up there. Definatley a future forum ride

That mast section downhill is a right laugh ;D It was more or less a flowing stream! All the bushes feel like wire wool against your legs too!

All the bushes feel like wire wool against your legs too! The knee & shin guards come in handy there ;D Here's mtbman's bike parked at the bottom of the run from a previous ride

For anyone who feels that Llandegla has too much of a man-made feel - then the mast route is for you. Natural, and unridable in places.
My legs went near the end of the day though - I'd probably say the mast route along with the red route would be enough for me.

Is there anyone who can post up a marked up OS map of the mast route and how it fits in with the red please?
