With an 'Off Piste' ride planned for this Sunday, and the fact that there are a number of 'Off Piste Virgins' attending, I thought there might be an opportunity to provide the two current entries with a little competition However, looking through the Forum Rides section I notice a number of individuals who may have a valid entry into this elite group. Although their untimely fall from grace may not be as dramatic as Scott's, I believe their inability to successfully negotiate a grade 5 downhill section* warrants a mention in the pages of MBNW folklore. So without further ado, I give you the next three contenders. First up is our old favourite, Ady. While the person behind, seeing Colin poised with his camera, had the common sense to get off and push. Ady decided to carry on regardless and provide the first bit of entertainment for the day ;D Second to go was Ken All I can say is at his age, you think he'd know better Our final contender is Chris (Captainbland08). However, in his defence, I'm unsure whether he's actually falling or just trying to break another bike ;D Which was probably loaned to him by another unsuspecting member of the downhill community (When will they ever learn ) Bring on Sunday's 'Off Piste' ;D * Grading is rated from a 1 (Something my mother could ride down) to a 10 (Something Rob Corney would have to push down).

A fall is a fall, MTFU, and just accept your ego was bigger than the drop / jump / rocky section you were attempting to ride down."I rest my case

If you get enough fallers in this comp their outlines could be cut out on photoshop, minus their bikes, onto a plain background and it would make a lovely, comedy MBNW wallpaper for your computer, or even as a print on a t-shirt for the lucky winner (providing they are still alive of course). I'm particularly liking Ken's 'cossack dance' stance ;D Good work!

After another weekend of ‘Off Piste’ action, comes the inevitable public humiliation that is know as the The MBNW 2010 Fall Guy Award ;D Today’s first offering comes from Rupert, who having read the positive feedback regarding Scott’s effort in the original post, has attempted to emulate this style with a classic, ‘dive over the handlebars’ pose. This is a very good effort for a first attempt and shows the thought and preparation he has put into it, as he has deliberately dived towards the soft landing to be had from the grass and moss However, his second attempt of the day at winning this prestigious title was even more dramatic. Unfortunately, as it was not caught on camera it cannot be entered But judging by the aftermath of the tumble, as illustrated in the photo below, it may well have secured the title even at this early stage of the competition. Our next entrant is no stranger to this thread. Indeed, it has been suggested that Ken is so determined to secure the title that he has devised a tactic known as ‘law of averages’. He believes that if he falls off every time a camera is pointed in his direction, then the ‘law of averages’ means that at least one of the many pictures must surely be a winner His first effort is the old ‘Slide down the hill on the arse’ technique. Although not an original concept, it does demonstrate Ken’s ability to choose the type of fall from his catalogue to suit the ground conditions. Ken’s second attempt is the old ‘Reverse Wheelie’ pose. Although technically not a crash, it is inevitable that the next picture in the series would show Ken adapt the position known as ‘Bail and Duck’ ;D An example of the ‘Bail and Duck’ technique, perfectly executed by the master himself Credit must be given for a valiant effort from a seasoned pro, and no doubt not the last time we see Ken in this thread. Our final entrant today is a serious contender for the title. Not only did the collective audience who witnessed this dramatic crash give out a simultaneous ‘Ooooooo’, but a number of people actually turned their heads away, too afraid to look at the carnage that lay at their feet Of course, there were also those people who continued to take pictures regardless of the severity of the fall It is of course tinytim, and his effort to defy the laws of physics and challenge gravity, by attempting to execute a forward flip from a totally inadequate height. In reality there was only ever going to be one winner, and unfortunately it was never going to be Tim Not content with merely falling off his bike, Tim has adapted a new technique by going for the sympathy vote. Went to A&E and was told I had whiplash which will be really bad tomorrow, concussion and burst blood vessels in my nose..... Unfortunately, Tim is still a relative newcomer to this forum and has yet to realise that no-one on here gives a sh1t if he hurt himself or not.

I like the idea of that, a T-Shirt design for the lucky winner to wear at the prize giving, Tarbo has the details for a T-shirt printers that doesn't charge the earth. A quick idea to build on
