I might be wrong here but I think Iggy just popped his into the LBS by prior arrangement and they charged him a tenner... failing that my mate Dave's got a big engineers vice and a couple of blocks of hardwood but he wont let me tell anyone where he lives

I once installed a headset with the aid of a car trolley jack, two walls a short distance apart and some blocks of wood. It worked, but I can't recommend it as I needed to have about 5 hands to hold everything in alignment :-)

Bit of threaded bar, some nuts and large washers and voila, you have a headset press.

That wasn't helpful. That's pretty much all a headset press is.. Stick the bar through the head tube, put the cups in place, big washers on either end and stick the nuts on and tighten with a spanner until the cups are flush in the frame. EDIT: or what trailrash posted, pretty much the same thing.

This is what I've done with both frames I have and I'm about to do it with a 3rd one, and I've never had to replace any headset bearings, ever
