I've managed to break my finger... I wouldn't mind so much if I had been biking down Snowdon, but unbelievably I did this whilst gardening Obviously i need to give up gardening, But I wondered if any of you have broken fingers in the past, and how long it kept you off the bike for? I have been told to rest my hand as much as possible for 6 weeks, i'm nearly 3 weeks in and desperate to get out on some bike rides. Any advice/pisstaking welcome!

I wondered if any of you have broken fingers in the past, and how long it kept you off the bike for? Whenever I've broken fingers in the past it usually keeps me off the steed for about 15-20 minutes depending if I'm dunking or not ;D All the best for a speedy recovery mate

You'll soon get used to riding singlespeed As long as you aren't moving the fractured parts relative to each other it shouldn't do any damage should it? Also, it's pretty boring but you could go running/riding nowhere at the gym where you can't fall off. You might be able to park right in front of the door when you get your blue badge ;D Give us a shout if you need a hand with anything (no pun intended )

I was out riding again offroad three weeks after breaking a couple of ribs. Had to get help getting my bike on/off the roof rack but riding was OK. Smarted a bit at times, but I needed to get out riding again.

Some good advice, thanks for that. Need to get out for my sanity now I think, i'll just do an Iggy and chop it off altogether. Cheers :-)
