i got infected with security shield 2012 recently. (I think it was from here but not 100% certain). The problem with these types of viruses they are not usually detected by your purchased anti-virus software as they run in the back ground and are written so they cannot be removed. I had to run Norton Eraser in the end (free download)
My advice is the MBNW site is safe just dont open any suspicious links in users posts. If you have a look a a fairly recent member had some of these!!! but wont name as it could have been a coincidence
I managed to fix mine in the end but it took a while

If you have a look a a fairly recent member had some of these!!! but wont name as it could have been a coincidence I only get the warning for www.mbnw.co.uk , nothing comes up for northwalesmtb.proboards.com so I don't think it any dodgy posts on the forum that have caused it

My laptop is out of action at the moment because of this PC shield virus thing.
Whats the best way of getting rid of it as every time I go on the web with it, it comes up with a warning page saying pc may crash and freezes etc.

if its the same as i had everytime you load the internet, a virus scan pops up saying you have loads of spyware, viruses etc when you click cleanup it takes you to a site(all of this looks like official microsoft protection) it then asks for payment. If yougo onto Norton security website it gives you all the instructions there.
Essentialy you save the norton eraser on your harddrive, then you start your computer in safe mode with network access (think its F8 on rebooting). The norton then does a virus scan remotely from the web. It didnt show on mine that it had found the problem but it fixed it anyway , it did take a while. Your buy from the shop internet protection can miss these viruses as they are updated frequently and then these clever programs work by preventing the antivirus on your pc from working, hence the external scan works
hope it helps, if not google PC shield on google but it can be quite techie for the solution

The site should be okay, I did get a warning from Eset the other day kicking off but didn't have time to look at it properly. I will check through the site tomorrow just to be sure

I don't get any problems/warnings however, I only ever enter the forum via proboards and NOT the main site page which indicates to me it's an issue with the website not the forum.
