Another damaged tyre on todays ride, this time at Clocaenog Forest, sidewall got ripped and kept spitting out Stans Sealant, need to pump the tyre up 4 times to get back to the car some 12 miles away, after the last pump up the tyre held all the air for the last 8 miles and is still holding now some 4-5 hours later.

I'm shocked, truly.. 24 hours later and it's still holding all the air, I don't know whether to replace it or just repair it with an inside patch as the tyre is only a couple months old. Probably safer to replace.

I've used Stans for the last couple of years and really rate it. Only problem can be getting the tyres on, I use a compressor but even then I find it can be tricky, even with new tyres. My experience though is that if you put the tyre on a spare rim with an inner tube at a reasonably high pressure for a couple of days, when you take it off and fit with Stans, the chance of getting it to 'take' is much improved.
