Just come back from doing the Llandegla Black run - minus "JJ's Jumps", still not done this section.
I class myself as an "unexperianced" rider, and its easily at my level, while still being challenging.

id say the black run is more downhill style and the red xc singletrack!i did the blue run once with a m8 and his lad and had a top buzz nice wide fast flowing track .good for a quick warm up race with ya m8s b4 a black run blast on a good fun day out!!!

I find Llandegla to be pretty dumbed down compared to other trail centers, especially the Scottish ones. It is however a private commercial forest and so they have to protect themselves from litigation a bit more than a FC forest does. When I stay in the forest I tend to take most of the steep shortcuts at Llandegla to make it a little more interesting. Most of the time when I ride there it's just to use the trail center as a convenient meeting place before heading out over the hills to Llangollen. Agreed, I found it not too challenging for a Black Run, there wasnt anything on the trail that i went WOW abaout. But it is very challenging for unexperienced riders, but i dont see many unexperiencied riders riding it. But i also thought there was too many uphills for an eledged DH trail, I dont do hills Uphills tend not to be an option on your bighit loz:D was still a fun day out on that trail tho...

just done this again this afternoon, first time in spd's, it was very wet today nearly had a few slips Watched a guy face plant into a tree on the black run from the bridge, very lucky man he took a foot of bark of he stump with no facial injuries!!! Managed 2hrs 50 with one puncture and a 20 min social break at the above black run determined to get it down to under 2hrs.

Make sure you try the route up to the masts and back via the boards (leave the forest at the top of the red run) - a couple of good downhill sections there
