Hi All
New to the forum!
Was just wondering if any of you guys know any shortish routes in the Wrexham area that include some smallish jumps berms etc?
With these so called summer nights I would like to get out after work but think Llandegla is only open until 9pm on Wednesdays.
Any help would be massively appreciated.
Adam

I think degla is open till 9 all wk nights, just that shop/cafe is open untill 9 on Wednesdays. Plus there should be plenty of places around where u live to make a tidy little route, and half the fun is linking it together to make a ride Just watch out for nettles as I found out last Friday

There's not much close to Wrexham. I've attached a few bits that might be helpful. Some of the links take a while to load for some reason The Gatewen one goes up the shitty excuse for a cycle path up to the woods in Moss valley. There used to be a couple of little jumps up there but not sure now they've redeveloped the area. Riding through all the anti cycle barriers is a challenge anyway. www.petereverett.co.uk/cycling/map-gpx.php?ref=GatewenBonc yr Hafod follow the cycle path through Erddig. You can get air on the bridge at the bottom if you really really try. Bonc yr Hafod is an old spoil tip made into a park. There's a few moderately steep but easy slopes, maybe more hidden in the trees. Watch out for walkers and dog eggs. www.petereverett.co.uk/cycling/map-gpx.php?ref=bonc-yr-hafodLegacy-Penycae follows the road up to the moors then down a bridleway through the woods. Not a bad descent but not difficult. A few rocks to pop some jumps off. The second descent to Penycae is fast but often overgrown and muddy. www.petereverett.co.uk/cycling/map-gpx.php?ref=Legacy-PenycaeIf you fancy a bit further and can get to Froncysyllte (8 ish miles from Wrexham) you're in luck. MTB heaven if you don't mind doing a bit of tarmac up the hills. Some bits of the route I've attached are downright dangerous. Didn't get any takers when I posted the ride up on here ;D You could also start a lot of the rides around there from Llangollen. www.petereverett.co.uk/cycling/map-gpx.php?ref=Fron_etcIf you want jumps, have you been to Ponciau Banks? northwalesmtb.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=piccys&thread=7673&page=1 (don't offer the kids any sweets) If you want to get up to Llandegla you can ride up through Minera Mines then either Minera Quarry/The Moors pub or Worlds End road/Offa's Dyke bridleway. Going after hours isn't the best of ideas in case anything happens.

Hi Adam, Gresford quarry and the slagheap is also worth a look if you live in town mate, or as Thistle said the Moss valley has a few bits worth exploring too. Seem to be a few BMX tracks around although I feel a little old for that scene now!

Forgot to mention Gresford/Marford quarry. A planning application's gone in to redevelop it though, so I don't know if all the jumps and stuff have been levelled. (Plan was to include a tiny BMX/freeride area and the rest would be footpaths or tarmac cycle paths I think )

Yeah I noticed that some footpaths seem to be getting built there. I expect it will all be concreted or similar, the joys of living in town eh!
