Good luck Sandi, buffypara and the rest of the MBNW crew! Hope you enjoy it-despite the pain I'm sure you'll all give it your best shot.

Well done Sandi. My first one as well, and well pleased with being able to finish and be able to stand-up. My times, which were much better than expected were 7:53 swim, 51:22 bike, 20:48 run and 1:23 overall.
I now have seven weeks to prepare for the Llandudno sea Tri full length. That is going to be a lot tougher, but I am now looking forward to it.

Great event today, well done everyone who took part. Did my first ever tri in 1 hr 41, swim 14.07, Bike 58.11, Run 24.28. Now to improve my swimming and my transition time, ready for the next one.....been bitten by the triathlon bug Glad you enjoyed it Well it looks like it was a good day out for all the MBNW members that took part in this today. The weather held out for both the bike and the running, so we only got wet during the swim As far as I know the event was done by Buffypara, Sandi, Jonsey, Emma, Andy Bz and myself. First glance at the results board show that there were some really good times put down by everyone, especially as it was the first triathlon for most of them. The swim was a 400 meter pool swim (16 x 25m lengths), then out on an 'out and back' 27Km bike route. This started off through the town of Ruthin and then onto the A525 for the undulating road upto the 'Brookhouse Mill Roundabout' into what seemed like a headwind, so imagine our suprise once we rounded the roundabout to find the wind even worse going back into Ruthin. Once back in the leisure centre, it was time to swap the biking shoes for running shoes for the 5Km undulating run. This wasn't too bad and before you knew it you were making your way back to the leisure centre. The sting in the tail was rounding the last corner only to find that they were sending you around the school field for a lap of the rugby pitch before crossing the finish line I was one of the first off this morning as I was down to marshall so got the opportunity to shout abuse encouragement to the MBNW posse as they went past. And to be honest, everyone looked refreshed as they went past. Not sure how they all looked at the finish though The one drawback of going off so early was the bizarre scenario of being stopped dead in my tracks on the biking leg by a local farmer deciding to cross all his cows over the road to put them into another field. All the people I'd work so hard to overtake all came to a stop too, so there were 5 of us sat astride our bikes chatting away for a couple of minutes. You couldn't make it up ! As this was the first time this event has been held, there is no previous times to compare the results with, but I managed to get round in a time of 1'17'18" and finished in 26th place. This included some time taken off the bike leg due to the cows crossing the road. So really pleased on the whole I've got a few pictures I took while marshalling and will get them posted up later.

Well done everyone. I finished my first triathlon, too I managed a time of 1hr 37m 58s, quite slow on the run, but plenty of room for improvement if I decide to do another tri! I saw Sandi, Emma and Andy on the course and everyone seemed to be smiling. Just been sleeping off my pub Sunday lunch while watching the Giro.

Right then, managed to get the few pictures I managed to take onto Photobucket, so here you go Emma Elizabeth One very happy finisher (and her own personal support crew ) Andybz on his way into T2 Looking very strong on his run Jonsey Not sure if any has any more planned (apart from Andy that is), but if you enjoyed it there's one in Llanrwst in September run by the same club. so if you fancy something a little different, now's the time to start a little training

Well done everybody. My daughter with an 11am start had hail on the bike ride so you guys were lucky to miss it. Use to indulge in Tri's many years ago when they first came to the UK, my swimming was rubbish but made it up on the bike and run.(ahhh!! memories)

For those that took part and may be interested in pictures, the official photographer has started to upload his pictures. So far he has only uploaded the first of three sets, these consist of the biking leg as it leaves the leisure centre. Here's the link - Sport Pictures CymruAnd here's one of yours truly with a mouth full of Jelly Babies starting my biking leg
