Not quite a wave, more of a wiggle!! Red/black inc jj's and log's 1hr 30min (not me - the lad) Thanks to Mark who sent us a readout of his lap we had some idea of what to aim for. I got the lad a cycle computer and he used the stop watch (not ridetime!!!), he lost 3 mins on the climb (21), was about 4 mins back at the start of the black(33) and 10 mins down at the top of the REALLY steep climb at the end of the back(58). He is still doing the JJ jumps (and log's), and finished in 1:30min (about 10 mins quicker than 2 weeks ago - but 6 mins down on his best from last year in the dry). I think he is loosing quite a bit at the end, but at least now he has something to aim for, he can do a sub 20 to the top but he only seems to do this if he is riding with someone else. Funny thing is when I meet him in the car park, he normally points out other riders "oh, I was chatting to him whilst on the......." I can't speak when I'm riding!!! Still aiming to get 1:15 with the jumps before he reaches 12 (next Feb). Oh and my time was about 1:35-1:40(ish) no jj's Fair play to the boy, sounds like he's absolutely flying bearing in mind his age. I think 1:15 for red/black/jj's will be something else for an eleven year old though, my PB for the same route last year was 1hr 3mins and that felt silly fast, he'll be winning races one day! I can see the Degla willy waves slowing down in the next few days, especially if the forecast snow turns up. (I imagine OPA are currently bricking it...)

@ Dan - Hopefully we might see you at shrewsbury later this year! Could be another Ryan, but we'll see, still too young to know!

If he can keep enjoying it and find the continued motivation then I'm sure he'll do very well, just don't let him do too much too soon for his own good. I'll definitely be there for the next lot of Shrewsbury Crits, start of the SIS series in a few weeks as well.

Finally i can get a score on the board after already having done 2 Enduros without one ;D Decided on the Marin as i was in Betws but was suprised to find the carpark full and the trails pretty busy which did not help my time in the middle trying to get past people who just ignored me when i ask to pass and weaving through a few large groups to anyway enough of the excuses. There we go a 1hr 51m, not exactly a wave but it will do.

Cheers mate, hopefully it should get quicker without bumping into a load of other bikers ;D and when the trail dries out as it was pretty wet and slippy today.

I hadn't done the trails for a while so didn't really know when to push a bit more but I managed sub hours on the Climax 55mins and summit trail 57mins at the weekend. I definaltey forgot how long the leg burner was! that was a beast of a climb

Nice one Rob.
I had a look through the previous pages for a link to something, don't think I went as far back as page 1 though.

Normally somewhere near my birthday I try a bit of a faster lap of the Marin just to see how things are going . Today was the first chance I've had and got a 1.48.42 , not much of a wave but not to bad for me .
